Updating Portfolio & New Art
I’ve finally gotten around to doing an overhaul on my website. This will probably spill over into July, but I’m liking the new direction and it’s been long overdue.
Here’s the at-a-glance things that are changing:
New home page! I’m trying to streamline site navigation so that recruiters and hiring managers can see the variety of skills, both art and design, that i bring to a team.
The home page now has three types of galleries: project galleries, art galleries, and private galleries.
Project galleries are mainly focused on design-heavy cases. This is meant to showcase my skills as a designer for games and other interactivity.
Art galleries are sorted by discipline (Vector, 3D, Concept, Animation, etc). These are being reworked a bit so that I can pull specific parts of projects together in easy to scroll galleries of similar disciplines. This category is still work-in-progress, and I should have all this sorted out by next month.
Private galleries are password-protected for projects under NDA. Currently, there’s only one (Facebook Avatars). COntact me for the password to view private galleries.
More frequent blog posts. As I look for a new full-time job, I want to be more active here to talk about the various project that I’m doing to keep busy and what I’m learning along the way.
I’m super excited to be doing this and am loving the way the site is shaping up so far!
New Illustrations & Concept Art
Here are some samples of work that I’ve done over the past couple months when not working on website updates. My focus for personal art projects right now is to improve my character design skills. Something I’ve been exploring more is the use of 3D models and photos to speed up the rendering process. I’ll be staying on this track for a couple more months and am hoping to use some of the more successful designs as the foundation for a concept art gallery on my website.
